Shane Gibson Plumbing- AMAZING! Hello Neighbors! I just had to thank all of you that recommended Shane Gibson Plumbing! He is simply FANTASTIC!! My 80 yr old father that lives in Barbour Manor desperately needed a plumber to fix a toilet and two faucets. He had called a big plumbing company. After not showing for the first appt, they finally showed up and tried to take advantage of my dad by heavily pressuring him into expensive, needless repairs to the tune of $1000+ He sent them packing (my dad maybe 80, but he’s sharp). We saw the recommendations for Shane and called. Shane immediately responded, put my dad totally at ease and stopped by on his way home for lunch. He fixed his toilet for $150 and will be back to fix the faucets. He is professional, knowledgeable and trustworthy. We can’t recommend him highly enough. First let me say I have already written a negative review on Angie's List against one of Louisville's major plumbing contractors that I had called out for this job. I am not a novice at home repairs and did not have time to repair this myself. The other company quote was so out of bounds I called Shane Gibson based on his outstanding reviews.
What a friendly competent individual. he went to work and was finished installing a new coupling assembly, carefully opening the wall so it could be easily repaired. He was done in about an hour. He charged 20% of what the large named company quoted me. You know, honesty is a lost attribute and it was nice to find a person that practices what his ads say. From my experience I had estimated the proper amount for the repair myself. Even without discussing the price Shane came in exactly what I had estimated was a fair price for the repair.(Honesty again!!!!!)
I took all my previous phone numbers for plumbers and took them off my phone and threw away my refrigerator magnets that I had received from other plumbers.. Shane Gibson is the only person I would call. I also found that a nearby large neighborhood hardware store recommends him as well. "The gasket that controls the flushing was warped by water. Shane explained that can happen over time. The toilet was frequently flushing because the rubber ring wasn't sealing. On short notice, I was able to get Shane to come fix my toilet. He immediately knew what the problem was, fixed it, and I was so relieved. The toilet is working perfectly. Shane promptly answered his phone. After telling him my problem, he stated that he was able to fit me in right away. He called me back to let me know he would be a little late & wanted to know if this was ok. It didn't take long & he was knocking on my door. Shane is extremely personable & seems like he enjoys his work. He took his shoes off as soon as he walked thru the door. He told me what he thought it was & already had the part in hand. Wow! Shane immediately got to work. After taking parts of the unit off, he showed rust that he felt contributed to the problem. After the cleaning, it was a small mound of rust that had built up. He took the pilot light out & thought that also was part of the problem. It took him no time at all & I could hear the gas, then the pilot lighting. After it ran for a few minutes, he tested it to show me it was working. He then showed me normal settings, adjustments to make & warnings regarding hot water. I appreciated the information he provided. In all, it took less than 30 minutes for the job. I am more than pleased with his service & he has a customer for life." D Johnson

Shane called to confirm and get directions. He arrived the next day ( appointment date ) on time and professional . I had an incident where my toilet made this loud banging noise every time it was flushed. Even though he didn't know how to fix it initially, because he hadn't seen one like that, he went to the parts store, and got the parts and came and fixed it. Whereas the previous two people, the first one said it couldn't be done, and the second one said that it would cost 270 Dollars. "Mr Gibson has been our saving grace more than once. Our first experience was due to my nephew flushing a roll of toilet paper and clogging the drain. We were having a Christmas party that night , so you can imagine my panic. He came over ASAP, fixed the problem and the party was a huge success! 2. Our second situation truly speaks to Mr Gibson's integrity and character. Our pipes had frozen due to the recent cold weather on Monday. Very early on Wednesday one of the pipes busted, flooding some of our basement. We had to turn the water off until a plumber could make the necessary repairs. Most plumbers had a two day wait list, but Mr. Gibson, knowing that we have handicapped daughter and needed special facilities, was here within the hour.
